I've been thinking about marketing lately. I want people to read my book. I want people to read my newsletter, and mostly, I want them to reply to the newsletter and tell me what they think. I'm a lousy marketer--I think--because I much prefer listening over talking. The social media state of people shouting to get attention exhausts me. But I also live in the real world, and I understand that there are people out there who would love my book if they read it, and they would read it if they knew it existed.

I came across Kening Zhu a while ago, and followed her without really knowing why. Honestly, half the time I couldn't parse what she was saying. I think it's because it wasn't the right time. Then I stumbled onto this post, and everything kind of made sense. She talks about building a labyrinth rather than a marketing funnel, and this suits my energy much more.

So I've decided to create this garden and start tending it. I'll try to share fairly often, fairly short things. If you want to read more, I invite you to subscribe to my newsletter.
