Friday Prompt: Voice

Read this on galpod.com.

Since I’m singing again, I’ve been thinking about my voice. A comment I’ve gotten consistently with many writing samples, both in Hebrew and English, is that I write the way I talk. So that got me thinking. How loud do I allow myself to be? How often do I say what I think? How does that impact my singing? My writing? What happens if I raise my voice just a little bit?

So, today, I invite you to think about your voice. Can you see it in your writing? Does it change when you write in different mediums (e.g., longhand vs typing)? How does it change if you write with different audiences in mind? Or when you talk to different people? What makes you want to shout—in frustration or excitement? Can you bring that into your writing?

Hey there! I would love to hear whatever you're willing to share that came from the prompt. Please comment below or click on the chat window, even if it's only to tell me that you've found this prompt useful (or ridiculous).
