On Vacation

Right. Tomorrow we're off on our annual family vacation, a tradition that is almost a year old. I've been thinking a lot about that, and I think what I want for those two weeks is to be completely offline. I generally think that my social media handling is not too bad. I don't check obsessively on most days, I have a reasonable handle on how much time I spend in social media apps, and I'm not a person who would post things that are inauthentic to get more likes.

Nevertheless, I feel that I need a break. I need to go offline and not have the apps there all the time, and not have things to distract me from this family togetherness time. So, I'm going to delete social media apps from my phone, and I'll probably stay on "Airplane Mode" for most of the trip except if I get lost. It also means I'm taking a break from the blog. No real-time (or almost-real-time) travel log this year, unfortunately. BUT I will write a log for me, and when I'm back, I will definitely write a post or four about the trip. With pictures. Promise.

In the meantime, I plan to read lots, have lots of adventures (with the kids!), and enjoy the break. We'll be back in the second half of August, and hopefully, we'll be energised, inspired, and still all in one piece.

Have a great summer!
