The Technicalities of Writing Online

Read this on galpod.com.

I've been thinking a lot lately about what I'm trying to get out of posting on Medium and this blog. Many writers I talk to (well, I read their posts on Facebook) use Medium to get paid for their writing. At least, that's what they do since Medium has the option to put your stuff behind a paywall and get paid.

I've decided this isn't the right choice for me, at least not right now. My goal—for Medium and this blog—is to communicate with as many people as I can. As I wrote before, I write for the opportunity to reach with my words and touch someone's heart. For that to happen, people need to read what I write. So I want my reach to be as broad as possible. That's why I decided not to put any of my writing behind a paywall for now.

But, I need your help. If you know someone who would like my writing—the blog, the stories, the style, whatever—please send them a link to my website. And if something I wrote made you think or realise something you didn't before, it would mean the world to me if you let me know. You can leave a comment on the story (either on the blog or in Medium) or just "like" the post on Facebook or Twitter. Or you can email me and let me know.

Thank you for taking the time to read.
